Goals: more than obtaining advanced certification, ISTQB-certified advanced Agile testers will be able to:

  • Analyse User Stories and Epics using requirements engineering techniques
  • Create and evaluate testable acceptance criteria for a given User Story using test and requirements engineering techniques
  • Apply test-driven development (TDD) in the context of a given example in an Agile project
  • Apply behaviour-driven development (BDD) in the context of a given User Story in an Agile project
  • Analyse a product backlog in an Agile project to determine a way of introducing acceptance test-driven development (ATDD)
  • Analyse the creation of a testing approach using test automation, experience-based testing and black-box testing, created using other approaches (including risk-based testing) for a given scenario in an Agile project
  • Analyse User Stories and Epics to create test charts
  • Analyse code as part of a code review to identify defects and technical debt

Mandatory Requirements

Introduction

1. Requirements engineering techniques

  • Analysing User Stories and Epics using requirements engineering techniques (Storyboard, Story mapping, persona, diagrams, use cases, etc.).
  • Identifying acceptance criteria using test and requirements engineering techniques (processes, techniques)

2. Agile Testing

  • Agile development and testing techniques (TDD, BDD, ATDD)
  • Experience-based testing in Agile (Combination of black-box and experience-based tests, exploratory test charters)
  • Aspects of code quality (refactoring, code review and analysis)

3. Test automation

  • Test automation techniques (data-driven testing, keyword-driven testing, applying test automation to a given testing approach)
  • Level of automation (Understanding the necessary level of test automation)

4. Deployment and delivery

  • Continuous integration, continuous testing and continuous delivery
  • Virtualisation

5. Revisions

  • Various questions & clarifications
  • Revision of the CFTL Syllabus and Glossary
  • Group response to the training questionnaire
